Trillium is pleased to be offering KidzArt™ for youth with a passion to create. KidzArt™ offers those eager to explore their creative muse an opportunity to express themselves artistically. While instruction focuses primarily on the foundations of Representational Art, children will also learn how to explore and develop their own creative vision!

KidzArt™ Essentials Throughout this six-week session, students will be guided in

developing essential drawing skills while encouraging them to develop their own style, vision and

creative approach. Students will acquire skills in visual interpretation, creating a balanced

Feldenkrais® Workshop*

for Dancers, Musicians, Actors,

Singers & Public Speakers

Date: August 4th

Time: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

$125

  High School thru Adult

Performance Anxiety? Tension? Injuries?

This terrific workshop is divided into two unique portions. The first half will provide a fantastic opportunity to learn from a pioneer in adapting the Feldenkrais Method to performance! Steve Duke was the first musician to integrate the method with practice techniques to release tension and improve freedom of movement. Feldenkrais offers techniques that will release stress and anxiety during both rehearsal and performance, whether you are a dancer, actor, speaker, singer or musician.

The second portion of this 1-day workshop will focus on assimilating your performance character with a relaxed, unconscious competence. Take an in-depth look at who you are on stage, what your goals are as a performer and whether or not you are accomplishing them and relating truthfully to your audience. This is an intensive workshop designed to stretch and strengthen your abilities to manage the rigors of rehearsal, audition and performance with reduced tension and enhanced awareness.

The Feldenkrais Method is an educational system centered on movement, aiming to expand and refine the use of the self through awareness. It is intended for those who wish to improve their movement repertoire (dancers, musicians, artists), as well as those wishing to reduce pain or limitations in movement, and many who want to improve their general well-being and personal development. Because it uses movement as the primary vehicle for gaining awareness, it is directly applicable to disorders that arise from restricted or habitually poor movement. But as a process for gaining awareness, it can expand a person's choices and responses to many aspects of life: emotions, relationships, and intellectual tasks; and it applies at any level, from severe disorder to highly professional performance. The Feldenkrais Method holds that there is no separation between mind and body, and thus learning to move better can improve one's overall well-being on many levels.

Feldenkrais Method includes the use of:

Awareness Through Movement® is series of movement sequences that people are led through verbally. They affect changes in breathing , posture, flexibility, range of motion, shifts in self-image, reduction of pain, increased vitality and overall brings one’s attention back to the process of what we are actually doing. Functional Integration® is a hands on technique, it is like a tailor made ATM lesson, where the practitioner uses their hands to guide you to a new sense and use of yourself.
